the enzyme hw
Reading this article I learned lots of new material about how enzymes work and what they do. I learned from this article is that the more raw foods you eat the less your body has to produce digestive enzymes. In reading this article i have also learned that enzymes are divided into 3 sections, metabolic enzymes, digestive enzymes, and food enzymes. I learned about how it can actually be bad for you to eat all cooked food because it can result in an enlarged pancreas and makes other crucial organs like the brain smaller. Reading this Article has improved my knowledge of enzymes to another level and I'm proud of it! Enzymes are really fun to learn about.
Hey my name is Gabbie Ruiz. Im a freshman at WGHS. I live in San Jose, California. I have grown flowers before but never food. I have grown many different types of flowers that never seem to survive. I remember the process being very fun.
The person that taught me how to plant was probably my mom. My mom has taught me to do so much, and i think gardening/planting was one of the things.

Story of the Seed
Gabbie, Xchiti, Nial, and Amine
Introduction
We wanted to test the growth rate of seeds that were grown in different temperatures. We planted one set of seeds in our classroom, one set in an incubator, and one set in the fridge. Our temperatures ranged from 10 degrease Celsius to 29 degrease Celsius.
Purpose
Our lab report is to show and share our results in the experiment we conducted.
Hypothesis
We thought the plants would grow best in the normal temperature in the class room, and that the others wouldn't grow as much.
Materials
- potting soil
- seeds
- some type of pot or container
- water
- fridge
- incubator
- thermostat
- Determining the location of each plant.
- Put the seeds in paper towels.
- Dampen the paper towel.
- Place the paper towel in the location it will be growing.
- Over the next few weeks, check the growth and water the plants.
- Once the seeds have sprouted, transport the seeds into potting soil in the pots.
- Continue to observe and let them grow.
Our observations were that some seeds sprouted and some didn't depending on where they grew. The seeds in the normal temperature also grew faster once they sprouted.
Data
Here is the data we concluded:
SEEDS SPOUTED:
Incubator: 2
Fridge: 7
Normal: 9
SEES THAT LIVED:
Incubator: 0
Fridge:4
Normal: 8
Discussion
This experiment was successful because enough data was collected to make some conclusions about our hypothesis. As the data shows the hypothesis that we created was correct. The temperature did effect the seeds germination and the growth rate.
The results for our lab was that the seeds in the normal setting grew much faster than the others. The seeds in the incubator never showed much sign of sprouting. And the seeds in the fridge sprouted, but not as fast as the seeds in the normal temperature.
The temperature did have an effect on how the seeds grew. The seeds in the fridge grew slowly because the temperature of the seeds were cold. While the seeds in the incubator never really grew because it was too warm and too humid.
Some problems we faced were with the seeds in the incubator and the fridge. They were growing very slowly or not at all, so we weren't sure we would have anything to plant. We continued to watch the seeds fail to grow. Finally towards the end of two weeks of growth, some had begun sprouting.
Hey my name is Xochitl Ruiz!I love to do many things when im in a good mood which is most of the time, when im in a bad mood you better watch out because i get all mean and you don't want to mess with me but that rarely happens!I was born in mexico but my parents brought me here when i was like 4 or 5 years old!Im a freshman at willow glen high!
I havent really tried planting though my mom used to have her garden beautiful back in mexico i never really payed attention to it though i guess im not the type of peron that likes to have plant stuff i find it boring because it takes time and you have to be patient with it,And i cant really be patient with stuff! My mom really loved to have a beautiful garden she would get mad if we accidently stepped on the flowers but me and my brother didnt really it did matrer to us.

Hey I am Amine Abdelouahid. I am originally from Sacramento CA I was born and raised there. My cousins and family still lives in Sacramento so i go there every couple of weeks and on holidays.
I have not really gardened or done any yard work ever. I did not think it would be this fun. Gardening can teach you lots of skills I liked all these skills that i learned. Back in Sacramento my Grandpa and Grandma loved to garden. The garden lots of things like carrots, cucumber, strawberries, and much more. Now that I have seen my Grandpa and Grandma grow plants i really want to grow plants.
